Inception (12a)

Christopher Nolan is back from the world of the Dark Night with his labour of love Inception.

We are taken to a world where it's possible to share dreams. People can create imaginary worlds or cities that seem perfect in every way. However, in a world where you make anything up and put it into someone else's dream there's bound to be a bit of mischief.

Dom Cobb (DiCaprio) is an Extractor. He spends his time tricking people in to giving him there secrets by using their dreams. However he has a dark secret that threatens to bring down his one last heist.

With help from his partners in crime Gordon-Levitt, Page, Hardy and Roa, he hunts down Murphy an heir to a vast business empire. But will the plan work out or will his past throw a spanner into the works?

Nolan provided an excellent thriller in Dark Knight and he has managed to surpass himself with Inception. Yes the plot can be hard to follow and has some gaping holes... But then don't all dreams?

For me, the masterpiece is made by the effects. It makes The Matrix look dated, with reality bending details. The gravity defying scene with Gordon-Levitt are almost impossible to follow and demand pause and rewind (I can't wait till it's on DVD!).

There are a few twists, but most don't surprise you, however right till the very end Nolan will have you wondering.

I even liked the more grown up and filled out DiCaprio - which is unusual for me.
